Outlook 2003
This guide is for Outlook 2003, but other versions are similar.
These notes are only meant as a quick guide to help you configure your contacts listing within Outlook. For example, you want your company shared contacts to show up first when you click the 'To:' button when addressing e-mail. These instructions will help.
Please don't ask me why Microsoft made this so difficult...
Make Your Contact List Appear in the Outlook Address Book
- go to the Folders View
- click the folder icon on the bottom left
- right-click your personal or shared contact folder and choose Properties
- click the Outlook Address Book tab
- select Show this folder...
- click OK
- click the Outlook Address Book tab
- go to the Contacts View
- click on the Contacts icon in the lower left corner
- click the Address Book icon in the tool bar above
- click Tools -> Options
- select the address list to show first when creating a new message
- click on the Contacts icon in the lower left corner
Now, when you create a new e-mail message, your selected contacts list should be automatically listed when you click the To: button to address the message.
